The Best Ice Cream in the Country

Iwas in heaven today. My friend Robyn told me about an open house event at the Blue Bell Creamery in Broken Arrow. Anyone who knows me at all knows that is somewhere I had to be. We loaded up and headed out there this morning. All you can eat ice cream for $4 - and the kids got in for free!!! They had all sorts of games and jupiter jumps for the kids, and lots of Blue Bell treats for me. There was one place that had two lines - one had four flavors of ice cream and the other had all the Blue Bell treats on a stick or a cone. Then there were all these other lines that each had 5 or 6 flavors. You just picked a line and got a scoop.

Here is a Blue Bell jupiter jump

This was our first trip through the line...

Second trip...

Third trip...

It seems like we made another trip, but I don't have any more pictures!

Here are my girls enjoying their treats. It was a bit of a struggle for Caroline. She does not like to get her hands or her clothes wet or dirty. It was sprinkling on us and she had popsicle all over her hands and her clothes. She toughed it out and stuck with the popsicles.

They had this wooden cow there that you could practice milking. The girls had a good time with this.

And I guess you can't eat the best ice cream in the country without getting on a tractor? I don't know. They had a whole bunch of these really old tractors there that the girls has a lot of fun climbing on.

This was Blue Bell's annual Taste of Summer. I will definitely be there next year! I am thinking about ditching the kids though. I could sure eat a lot more ice cream if we did not have to take time out for jupiter jumps!

2 Year Doctor Visit

I finally took Caroline for her 2 year visit today. She is doing very well. She is growing, almost like a weed! Here are her percentages:

Length: 33 1/2 inches (45%)
Weight: 22 lbs 9 oz (7%) Her last appt. she was in the 5th percentile, so they were pleased.

At this same age, Kayla was 36 1/4 inches and 28 lbs 2 oz. She was quite a bit bigger!

They said she is developing properly and everything looks good.

Vacation Photos Coming Soon!!!

I promise I will post pics from vacation sometime today. Things have been crazy since we got back. Kayla was running a very low fever most of Monday. I (the bad mother) went ahead and sent her to VBS that night. I figured she was just exhausted from the trip. I did not think she was actually sick. Robyn brings her home that night and tells me Kayla does not feel well. She rode 10 minutes in the car without saying a word and did not eat any of her popcorn. Kayla loves popcorn. I stayed outside talking to Robyn for just a few minutes, and when I came back in Kayla was fast asleep on the couch. Robyn told me to give her some Benadryl and Tylenol. Halfway through the Benadryl Kayla runs to the bathroom. She made it just to the doorway before she threw up. Her temp was 103.4. That continued most of the night. She had pretty high temps all day yesterday. Yes, I kept her home from VBS last night. She appears to be good as new today.

I take Caroline to school in a few minutes. Kayla and I have some errands to run, but I will put pics on here later.
Here is one for Kathryn...

Only in Oklahoma

Andy and I got a kick out of this sign. This picture was taken on a Saturday morning. This corner is always covered with garage sale signs. I could not help but laugh when I saw the homemade sign for the wedding among the other signs. They went to a lot of trouble making their sign! Where else do you see stuff like this?

Very Strange Storm

We had the strangest storm today. It started off a little overcast. Andy went out to mow. Within a few minutes the wind was really blowing and it was really dark outside. I did not know the mower could go so fast. It was really funny to watch Andy try to finish before the storm. A few minutes later our power went out. I went to tell Andy to come in, but he was already headed back to the garage. As the garage door was shutting, we were hearing this strange sound. It was hail pounding against the garage door. Andy barely made it in. I have never seen so much rain and hail in such a short period of time. I would bet we had 1-2 inches in about 5 or 10 minutes. Then it was over. The sun was shining the rest of the day.

Our street NEVER gets water all the way across it.
We have lived here 7 years and this was a first-
really strange because it only rained for about 5 min.

Caroline does not like to get wet!
