Totally skipping ahead

I am skipping ahead on this one.  I am too tired to play catch up right now.  On Tuesday, May 17, we had a realtor come to the house.  We ended up with a For Sale sign in the yard that night, and the house was officially listed on May 18.  On Thursday morning we had a showing.  The same guy came back that night with his brother and sister-in-law that night.  We had another showing on Friday.  Friday night the realtor called me and told me we were getting an offer.  On Saturday she came over with a great offer.  Our house sold in 3 days!

It just does not seem real!  So today (Thursday, 5/26) we went house shopping.  We saw 7 houses, and then we went back to our favorite.  We ended up making an offer.  Short story....we have a contract on a house!  Assuming nothing goes wrong, here is our new house.  I am so excited!

We are set to close on July 1, so we are accepting offers to help us move over the 4th of July weekend!

Week 19 (May 8-14)

I can't seem to stay up to date on the blog.  Life has been unusually crazy lately.  More on the house:  We were moving a cabinet back into the bathroom and it fell over into the window.  That is not good.  So, along with everything else we got to get a new window.

The handyman came and put up a laminate backsplash in the kitchen.  It is not tile, but I think it looks great.

Fiday was Caroline's Fun Day at school.  They had a bunch of little bounce houses for them.  They had a great time, but it was freezing outside!

She was line leader on that particular day.  She was extremely proud!

Ater they finished jumping it was time for a picnic lunch.

And it is never too cold for a snow cone.

Week 18 (May 1-May7)

The work on the house continues.  I am beginning to wonder if it will EVER end.  We hired a guy to paint the inside of the house.  We chose the color from a facebook poll Andy's sister did.  She asked her facebook friends what their favorite Sherwin Williams paint color was for a neutral family room.  She had many friends that all chose the same color...latte.  We tried it and one other color, and decided to go with latte.  I love the color.

Over the weekend, Andy and his dad got the pod filled up.  On May 6th we got the pod taken away.

On May 1st Kayla had her piano recital.  I am so pleased with all that she has learned.  Here is a picture of Kayla with my mom.

And what would a week be without a dance competition.  We went to our last competition of the season.  I am worn out!  Kayla did a great job.  She got platinum (the highest trophy), high score for her category, and 3rd place overall out of all of the 9-10 year olds.

This is Kayla with her Grandma Sue.  She was able to make it to this competition.  She is really Kayla's solo teacher.  Rachel makes up the dance, and then Sue works with Kayla every week.  She has spent a TON of time with Kayla working on this dance.  She has helped Kayla really improve this year.  I am so thankful for all that she does.
We had to leave our house at about 6:30 in the morning on the day of contest.  Kayla competed with her solo, and also tap, hip hop, and lyrical.  All of those group numbers got High Gold trophies.  By the end of the day I am not the only one who is worn out.  This is Kayla at the end of the competition day.  It is a really long day!  We got home at about 8 pm.

And I just think this is funny.  The girls were fighting and not being very nice to each other.  They got to sit and hold hands for about five minutes.  They both loved it.

And now I am caught up!  Yay!!!!

Week 17 (April 24-April 30)

The girls dyed Easter eggs on Saturday.  Caroline was really excited about Easter this year.  It ranked right up there with Christmas in her mind.

It was cold and raining on Easter morning. I heard them awake around 6 am.  By 6:45, Kayla had given Caroline a bath and they were both dressed.  The girls did a little inside Easter egg hunt before we went to Church.

After Church we go to my dad's house for Easter lunch and an egg hunt with all of the cousins.  The kids always have such a great time together.  The egg hunt had to take place inside at their house also.  It was still cold and rainy.  I think Sue had around 250 eggs for the kids to hunt.  There are just not enough places in their house to hide that many eggs.  I was tripping over them just walking through the room.  They all got a ton of candy and little toys.  It was a great day.

This picture just makes me smile

Andy's parents came back up on Friday.  Kayla already had a dance thing scheduled so they got to go and watch.  I was excited for them to see her dance, but I wish they got to see her do her solo.  They did get to see her do two group dances (tap and hip hop).  They have not seen her dance since her very first recital when she was in pre-k.  We all went to Cherry Berry after the performance.  Yummy!
And Caroline always insists on a silly face picture
We put them to work on house stuff for the remainder of the weekend.  We got a lot of work done while they were here.  I am so glad they were willing to make the 6 hour drive again to finish up some projects.

Week 16 (April 17-23)

This was watch week for the girls at dance.  I took a few pictures of Caroline, but I did not even take the camera with me to watch Kayla.  The poor older child.

Here is Caroline with her sweet friend Brigi.  They go to different schools so they don't get to see each other very often anymore.  I am so glad that they are in dance class together.  They are so cute!

Tap time.  That little boy (Gabe) thinks Caroline is so cute.

On Friday morning as Andy was leaving for work he came and told me my tire was flat.  He has an air compressor that he plugged into the lighter of my car to inflate my tire.  He left for work.  I let that run for about ten minutes before it was time to take Caroline to school.  I got her loaded up and went to start the car.  Completely dead!  Not a great morning.  This is when it is so nice to live close to the school.  Caroline and I went on a nice walk that morning.  My dad came over and saved the day.  He pulled his truck up into my yard and jump started my car.  I took it to the tire place to get the tire fixed and then to the Honda dealership.  Kayla was reading in the car the night before and left the light on (I noticed that it was on when I picked the car up from the tire place.)  The air compressor probably drained what was left of the battery.  Anyway, I am glad there was nothing really wrong with the car.  I got it all fixed for less than $40.

This week was also the preschool field trip to the zoo.  We spent the day with Caroline's friend Acree and her friend Alex.  It was a great day to be at the zoo.  It was not crowded at all, and the weather was wonderful.
