Stage One Dance Competition

In May the girls went to Stage One Dance Competition.  PawPaw and Grandma Sue come watch the girls compete whenever they can.

I know this is not a great picture, but they were both on stage waiting for awards and it was the best I could get.

Caroline's group after awards.  They did really well.

It is always fun running into Libby at competitions!

Well...I am back.  I can't seem to stick with this very well.  I will try yet again!  I will attempt to pick up where I left off with Easter.

We went to my dad's house for lunch and an egg hunt.  Kayla and Andy left right after lunch for a Baylor game.  I was glad to at least get her in a picture with all of the cousins.

Silly kids...

 The hunt is on

Easter

We had a really nice Easter.  It was a little bit different from our normal holiday, but everyone was happy.  The day before Easter we colored eggs.  The girls really enjoy doing this.

We then made Resurrection Rolls.  It was something I found on Pinterest.  The girls ate them while they watched a live streaming of Winter Jam on the computer.  That was the best way to see that concert.  I saw the line outside of the BOK when it was in Tulsa.  We were not able to go, and I was actually relieved when I saw the number of people lined up 4 hours before the doors opened.

Easter morning the girls emptied their baskets and had a small egg hunt in the house.

Then it was time for a few pics outside before we went to early service at church.  We somehow managed to hunt eggs, eat breakfast, and get ready for church all by 9:15!  Pretty impressive if you ask me!

I will post pics of the egg hunt at my dad's house some other time.

1st Grade Musical - Hats

I am just jumping back into this without taking the time to play catch up right now.  I am so far behind I don't know that I could catch up!

Today was the 1st grade musical at Caroline's school.  She was so excited.  It was all about hats.  Caroline wanted to wear a cowgirl hat, but we could not get any of the ones we had at home to stay on her little head.  She ended up wearing a cute little straw hat that we bought for Kayla years ago on our trip to Jamaica.

I was not sure we would even be able to see Caroline.  The girl with the biggest hat (out of 100 kids) was standing directly in front of Caroline.  We could not see her at all.  I was really upset that they did not move that hat to the back!  However, she moved enough and I got Caroline to move over some.  We were able to see her pretty well.  She did a great job.  She really got into the singing and the hand motions.  She did not have a speaking part, but she knew all of the lines!

And I think her favorite part of the musical was that she got to leave school nearly an hour early!

Six Flags

How could I forget about this part of the trip?  Andy and I took the girls to Six Flags.  We had the best time.
We paid for two fast passes which was the best thing we could have done.  We were able to ride everything we wanted to.  I think we managed to squeeze about three days worth of Six Flags fun into one day.

We put Caroline on everything she was tall enough to ride.  She was a trooper.

We split up a couple of times so Andy and Kayla could ride some of the bigger rides.  Caroline and I went to all of the smaller rides.

She was not too happy about having to ride some of them by herself.

Soaking wet!  It was so hot though so this was not really a bad thing!

I could not see Andy and Kayla on most of the big rides that they rode.  They are in the second row from the top in this picture.

We had such a great time.  We were there before the park opened, and I am pretty sure we stayed until it closed.  It was a long, exhausting, and really fun day!

Last of the Vacation

It has been so long since we went on this trip that I don't really remember it.  That really shows my age!  I guess we stopped off in Highland Village on our way back home.  They had a great time swimming at Aunt Jenny's house.

Caroline was even brave enough to go off of the diving board.

We also had a birthday celebration for Brenner.  I can't believe he is already 3!

This is the end of the pictures I could find from this trip so I am guessing we headed home after this.  I should keep some notes next time or get around to blogging sooner!

Texas Vacation (part 2)

We left Houston and drove to meet up with Andy's parents and the boys at Inner Space Cavern in Georgetown.

Down we go...

We had the best behaved group of kids.  They were so good and paid attention to our tour guide.

Cousins arm in arm

"Inner Space Cavern was discovered by a Texas Highway Department core drilling team in the Spring of 1963. While drilling through 40 feet of solid limestone, the bit broke into what is now known as Inner Space Cavern. An adventurous employee of the highway department was lowered into the hole while standing on the drill bit and holding tightly to the stem. He was the first human being to enter INNER SPACE. What an exciting voyage this must have been!"  I took that from their website.  This is the hole that the employee was lowered into.

Our next stop on our trip was Waco.  First things first...they had to hit the hot tub.

We also took time to go down to the river.  Andy really wanted to spend some time there with the girls because he spent so much of his childhood there.  Darlene stayed home with Brenner and the rest of us headed to the river.

Jim took the boys back to the house, and Andy and Kayla took off exploring the water.

We also enjoyed some good 4th of July fun.

Andy and Kayla put up a tent so the two of them could camp out.

 These were EVERYWHERE.  So gross!

Ready for bed!

Cooking breakfast.

We also got to visit with Mamaw and Papaw.

Andy learned to fry the fish he and his dad caught on their fishing trip.

And there had to be some fort builing up in the treehouse.

More fun tubing out on the lake.
